Welcome to the family

For four generations, the Palmito has been welcoming travellers and friends, backpackers and families, holidaymakers from around the world and lovers from the next town over with open arms. Each generation has put its heart and soul into nurturing this little seaside hotel that has become an institution in Biarritz’s Rue du Port Vieux. After Roger and Janine came Auntie Michèle, who would always welcome guests with a smile, and the restaurant across the road, the Palmarium, was run by her brother Bernard. You could eat or sleep by just crossing the road. Not bad, huh?

The decor has changed a fair bit since Roger and Janine’s time, but the friendly feel and the importance of community and family have stayed the same! We have introduced our eco-friendly ethos and artistic sensibilities with the greatest love and respect to create a travel-inspired ambiance that will make you feel right at home in our hotel in central Biarritz.
